Rebirthing

Only a few adults breathe strongly and deeply enough. The reasons why we do not use our entire respiratory system can mostly be found in the fact that, from early childhood onwards, we have closed ourselves off in situations that were painful, tense, worrying, stressful, and dangerous for us. We can restore the potential of our breath with various breathing techniques and exercises. In order to release the energy associated with an unpleasant event, we can use rebirthing (circular connected breathing), which is one of the breathing techniques with immediate effect, with which it is possible to free oneself from (un)conscious blockages. That is why we organize group circular connected breathing, where we use the energy generated by the group to accelerate certain processes in the body.

CIRCULAR CONNECTED BREATHING (Rebirthing)

With every inhalation, we are symbolically born; with every exhalation, we symbolically die. This happens on average 20,000 times a day. The lungs of an adult human have a surface area exceeding 70 square meters. There are over 300 billion capillaries (tiny blood vessels) in the lungs. If they were sewn together, they would form a vessel 2,400 kilometers long.

It is an extremely effective breathing technique with immediate effects. It can be used to release (un)conscious blockages that have formed in the body due to physical and emotional stress.

The reasons we do not use our entire respiratory system are mostly found in the fact that from early childhood, we closed ourselves off in situations that were painful, tense, stressful, or dangerous. This has left imprints on our physical body.

A group of people are sitting and kneeling on the floor of a room, engaged in a yoga or meditation session. The room has large windows, soft lighting, and a wooden floor, with a person in the front performing a yoga pose.

How the workshop is conducted?

We have allocated three full hours for each session. These consist of:

  • Discussion, theoretical part, preparation for breathing: 20 minutes to 1 hour.

  • Breathing technique: 1 to 1.5 hours.

  • Exchange of experiences and discussion, explanations, instructions: 30 minutes to 1 hour.

The time for sharing experiences and discussion is important because it gives us an opportunity to clarify any experiences we may have had during the process and to hear about what others have experienced. The rebirthing instructor may also give you instructions or tasks to do at home.

More About the Rebirthing Workshop

We can restore the potential of our breath with various breathing techniques and exercises. However, in order to release the energy associated with an unpleasant event, we need the help of a professional who can safely guide us through this process. It is precisely the energy associated with the event that is stressful for an individual.

"It is astonishing how strongly our experiences are recorded in the body - even the earliest ones. After the introductory instructions and explanations, we just breathed without any specific goal and waited to see which event (emotion, problem, blockage) would appear in the body. We were surprised to discover how clearly the body speaks to us if we allow it to, and how much strength is released within us when we are able to accept the truth, even if it is not always pleasant."

Many adults notice that something is bothering them, holding them back, draining their energy, but they don't even know what it is, so they don't know how to deal with the cause. Did you know that for most people, birth is a stressful and traumatic event?

PATTERNS

From a temperature of 37 degrees in the womb, from complete darkness in which we grew for nine months, from a safe environment, a kind of paradise where we didn't have to do anything, we are born into a delivery room where the lights are too bright for our sensitive eyes, the sounds too loud for our ears, and the touch and fabrics are too rough for our sensitive skin. Shock occurs, and the newborn very quickly forms impressions of the world, mostly negative, which can be summarized into several groups:

• life is a struggle.

• this world is a dangerous place.

• I cannot get what I want.

• there is probably something wrong with me.

• life is painful.

• love is dangerous.

• I am not accepted.

• I cannot get enough love.

• I have to work hard to earn the affection of others.

This is how we create the first pattern, to which we adapt all other life concepts that we live by. These impressions or patterns define us primarily on a subconscious level. If they were conscious, we would be able to deal with them. We only know that certain things do not work for us and that certain principles of behavior repeat themselves, but we do not know how to overcome them.

In such circumstances, we typically respond with the statement, "I knew it would be like this again." Since we are conscious beings less than 10% of the time and operate largely (90%) from the unconscious, there is much within us that burdens us, inhibits us, and drains our energy.

Memory blocks caused by traumatic events are a frequent subject of study in psychology. The theory is that we have pushed painful experiences out of our memory because we do not want to remember the pain. Fear of painful memories prevents us from freeing ourselves from them, so they remain stored in our mind and body in the form of pain and tension.

For most adults, the following applies:

Various blockages, misunderstandings, unpleasant events, traumas, shocks, and stresses remain stored in our body's memory. Because they become part of us (whether we are aware of them or not) and because they are associated with unpleasant memories, they constantly drain our energy. If there are many such events, these subconscious processes take even more energy from us. This is a very common reason for feelings of exhaustion, dissatisfaction, discontent, depression, and, as they usually say, "because life just doesn't go the way we want it to."

"I gave birth to my child by C-section. For twelve years, I felt a strange sensation at the site of the incision. During rebirthing, something was released in that part of my body, and now, for some time, I have felt as if a blockage had been dissipated. The feeling is pleasant and liberating. I cannot explain how this happened; I only know that it did."

HOW CAN WE HELP OURSELVES?

If we understand that breathing is not just a chemical process and that we have as much life energy as the quality of our breath, if we understand that we have experienced situations in life when it was not appropriate to express our current emotional state and at that time - mostly unconsciously - we also suppressed our breath, which is reflected in our lives in that our breathing has become too shallow and weak, and if we allow for the possibility that there are techniques and trained professionals who can help us remove the obstacles to our potential, then we are already halfway there. We cover the other half by moving from theory to practice.

One of the techniques that releases the energy retained in the body, linked to stressful events, is rebirthing or circular connected breathing. Its effects are immediate and, if the leader's instructions are followed consistently, permanent.

At the beginning, we need a trained leader or rebirther to point out any irregularities in the technique. Their role is also to help us breathe through the entire process and complete it safely. During the process, very painful memories may resurface, and at that point we need an experienced supervisor who understands and knows what is happening to us, supports us, and knows how to help us.

"The rebirthing experience shocked me so much that I told myself I would start dealing with things now. I experienced it so deeply within myself that I felt something was finally moving. I am aware of my problem, and now I can also feel it, touch it."

Among other things, circular connected breathing leads to the following results:

  • increased energy

  • a feeling of calmness and relaxation.

  • the ability to cope with stress and better manage stressful situations.

  • greater control (and awareness) over your life.

  • freedom from fears, doubts, and uncertainties.

  • greater control over physical and emotional pain.

  • increased creative potential.

  • expansion of intuition and awareness.

  • insight into understanding and resolving basic patterns of behavior.

  • the path to a successful relationship.

  • improvement of interpersonal relationships.

  • replacement of shallow breathing with relaxed, natural breathing.

  • reliving of one's own birth and liberation from the trauma of the first breath.

The technique is safe and simple. It is based on conscious breathing, which restores the breath's primordial power, connecting the person with their life energy, which is mostly dormant and untapped.

Rebirthing is not a targeted technique—we do not choose in advance the event we want to free ourselves from. It would actually be a shame to limit ourselves to our maximum 5% consciousness.

We start breathing and wait to see what event (emotion, problem, blockage) will emerge. Some participants see the event as if on a movie screen, others relive various emotional states, and others have no memories, but simply feel good.

Note
Due to the intensity of the work and strong emotional responses, people undergoing psychiatric treatment cannot participate in group workshops. The workshop is not suitable for heart patients, drug addicts, pregnant women, epileptics, asthmatics, or people with severe physical or mental health problems. If you are taking any medication or have any physical or mental health issues, you must inform the organizer before registering for the workshop.

The workshop is open to people over the age of 20.

Rebirthing Frequently Asked Questions

  • It has a preventive effect on health and leads to better physical and inner well-being. It allows you to release blockages that have formed in your body due to physical and emotional stress, thereby overcoming limitations that you may not even be aware of. It allows us to explore ourselves deeply. The breath opens up and we begin to breathe with our whole body, just like children.

  • The technique is based on conscious breathing, which restores the breath's primordial power, connecting us to our life energy, which is mostly dormant and untapped. Each session is a unique experience. No two participants will have the same experience, and even for the same individual, no two sessions will be completely the same.

  • There are several forms of circular connected breathing. It can be done alone, in pairs, or in a group. It can be done lying down on a bed, sitting, in warm or cold water, in a sauna, or in nature. Each form has its own purpose, but in a group we take advantage of the energy created by the group, which accelerates certain processes in the body.

  • Yes, you can, but not at the beginning. Each individual will be advised by the technique instructor when they are ready to do so. The technique itself is not complicated, but at the beginning you need a trained supervisor to guide you safely and point out any irregularities in your technique.

The supervisor's role is also to help you breathe through a specific process without any problems and to complete it safely. During the process, painful memories may arise, but when the energy associated with them is released at the cellular level, this energetic memory is no longer there. Once you get rid of the rough energy patterns, it is time to start breathing without supervision. This requires a certain amount of persistence.
